Random Thoughts

12.11.08 - random thoughts by neenna

News of the strange appeared frequently during this holiday weekend. Some stories are downright hilarious (and a couple having sex in a car causing a traffic jam), while some seem to come straight from Ripley's Believe it or not. One story even involves a president. On Sunday (18 February), the Jerusalem police were called to investigate a traffic jam seemed to be caused by a car parked in the fast lane of a motorway. Apparently, the driver and male passenger of the car became very loving and pulling the side of the road was too much of a hassle. Needless to say that the car caused traffic problems as cars swerved to avoid the collision. The driver was given a ticket, however - to carry out the traffic. That's a new annoying driving habit to add to the list! This weekend also announced that a four-legged duck was hatched in London. The duck, which has been nicknamed "Stumpy" was born on a farm duck Nicky Janaway. If the duck was born in the wild, rare mutation would have been very difficult for the duck to survive. On the farm, Stumpy looks very good. Janaway told reporters the duck runs with extra legs "act as stabilizers." For those of us who religiously buy lottery tickets and never win, we think that the odds that we are like a ray hits the same place twice. Apparently lightning can strike twice. In Maplewood, Minnesota, airline pilot Raymond Snouffer Jr. matched the winning numbers on Saturday Northstar Cash. On Sunday, Snouffer decided to retain the number one and change the rest - and matched the winning numbers again! Each boat is $ 25,000 and the odds of winning a single drawing are about 170,000 to one. "In the second gunman" theory, be excited about it. A new movie trailer home of President John F. s Kennedy has been revealed. The film shows at the home of President Kennedy and Jacqueline, near Dealey Plaza in a minute and a half before the shooting. Secret Service agent Clint Hill is also visible. Footage of the Texas School Book Depository, taken the day after the shooting, can also be seen. The film, which is silent, 8 mm color, belonged to George Jefferies. After 40 years, he and his son decided to donate the film to the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, Texas.

Most people look to their local news stations to inform them of the day's events. Journalism is based on truth and integrity. Usually when people see the news can assume that everything that is given is a fact. People who have submitted information that is not quite true. This semi real information is presented to viewers through video news releases. There are many dilemmas about the use of these video news releases used as real news on local television stations and national. The use of audiovisual media used by television newsrooms were documented by the Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) in a period of ten months. This research found that thirty-six CMD press video had been used by these media reports groups. What exactly is a video news releases, is a public relations tool used when a short clip is produced and sent to the media. The video news release did not provide information from viewers. Since the publication of video news releases are made by public relations are mostly used to sell a product or a particular point of view of the viewer. It is important that the public knows about the purpose of video news releases. When video news releases are presented to the public by the media as news reports, viewers are given the correct information. Most news agencies that show these pieces video news release on the demonstration of video news releases and not informing the views that the information provided is a prepared video news releases, and not based on information gathered by reporter.Video press releases are the clips that sometimes can not distinguish between original news programs. These video news releases have been shown by television without editing. These video broadcasts unedited news does not give information to viewers that these video clips are produced. Some of the sponsors of these video news releases are non-governmental organizations, government organizations and corporations, among others. Journalist who used video news releases as their own work they are committing plagiarism. If television journalists label releases video and allow your viewers the chance to see who is sponsoring the audiovisual media are widely used then okay. Some video news release period are: video news release (VNR ), part edited, voice-overs, food, b-roll package, b-roll, down and up. A video news releases is generally 90 seconds or less, this is a video news clip of payment that is produced for broadcast in a media. Edited a piece that is often called a package is a full version of video news. A voice-over narration of the story. A satellite transmission of information is often called a source. A source of interviews and a b-roll, which usually includes a script is a b-roll package. The b-roll of a package of b-roll is a video clip used to look like a news story. When media is received by satellite downlink is called, which is the opposite of uplink, which is distributed by means of satellite communication. "Fake TV News: Widespread and Undisclosed" is the name of the report published by the Center for Media and Democracy. The report is the outcome of the ten-month investigation by CMD senior researcher and Daniel Price, who was the advisor to reach. The report shows how radio and television, also known as false reports are made by public relations experts and are then issued by news agencies as a consultant news.Daniel rates research for the report and also a critic of the media has been tracking public relations propaganda since 1993. "I was very angry when I learned that the use of real journalists stations to return to the voice of the voice of advertisers. Then the air stations. And in most cases, the stations not to balance the message takes customers with independently-gathered or basic journalistic research, "said Price.Andy Ludlum, a news director at KFWB explained that the information pre-packaged is sent by the publicist for radio stations can be used in the air. Video news releases are an opportunity for the public to get free advertising and promote your product or customer, at the same time. Ludlum said, "Occasionally, I get a radio news release and those that are problematic. I think mot of them are so boring they would not like to read them anyway. "When Jim Hill, a journalism professor at California State University Northridge was a reporter for CNN, said that video news releases were labeled. Hill said: "When I used to report that I am proud to get information from those directly involved. If I had to speak with a public relations consultant to consider the interview to be a failure. I only get information from them if it was information. " Hill did not like the use of PR officials and press releases, which always tried to make their own reports. Hill believes that the credibility of journalism depends on independence. "We use people as a journalist to obtain information, and people use us," said Baker-Schena Hill.Lori a public relations professor at CSUN spoke to Hill and said that video news releases are a great tool . Baker-Schena Hill said that if the department had the money include press releases in its public relations classes.Maureen Rubin also teaches public relations at CSUN said there is a problem with the information that is pre-recorded. Rubin said, "VNRs are fair use material. The VNR is raising awareness about a service, product or event that may benefit a lot of people. Many smaller stations can not afford to send reporters to cover all important events. "Rubin said the information is correct and answer the five W's: who, what, when, where and why he should not be any problem. Rubin also stated that it is the job of public relations firm to label the video news releases, but the work of television stations airing VNRs. "... The most important thing is that news stations are moving from the information their own reports and clearly is the work of advertising, some advertisers have VNR posing as a reporter, "said Price.A formal complaint was lodged at the same time Free Press a reform group of media and CMD asking the Federal Communications Commission crackdown on fraud programs dealing with television news. The two groups are calling fake TV news to be labeled for example news releases on video. The groups were asked whether they produce video news releases are mandatory labeling of products.Price also stated that "the bottom line is, if not their label, not journalism - it's ventriloquism." Price said the use of VNRs by the media is "a big problem." David Greenberg does not believe that this problem is a public matter. "I do not think the public cares. For those of us who are on the ship that we care, "said Greenberg.Ludlum had the same opinion Greenberg cares if the video news releases are disguised or not, unless the person is a journalist who simplify does not care. "The media reported that the use of release should specify that they are using press releases in its distribution, so that viewers are aware of where they're coming.

Thoughts On Independence por Karan Nevatia

Not sure where to find music news on the Web? There are many sites, but that drive the fans are the best. Since they are not part of a news corporation does not have to be edited by a number of different people before being put out. This results in both frequent and rapid updates. Whether you are looking for a program to go in their city, a review of a recent publication, or just general turmoil in the music industry these sites may be just what you want. 1. Brooklyn Vegan is the first music site visit during the day. You have up to date, and often the messages for the first time in visiting hours. It was in this place I was able to learn from a pre-sales for publishers show again in the spring and how to become eligible for it. The show sold out in minutes, so if I had not bought my tickets during the pre-sale is a good chance that could have been excluded. From today on their home page there is information only on pre-sale for The Flaming Lips and Sufjan Stevens. Along with the tour-schedule, Brooklyn Vegan posts also store performances by bands. I think this is good because unless you are specifically looking for it, I never heard presentations about the store. 2. Stereogum is a great blog that touches on many genres of music. Scott, the man who runs Stereogum often have news about bands that are working on new albums and their progress, and even provides links to examples that are available. It is a great way to hear a preview of offering then a band. Looking for new "music video? Chances are you can find here courtesy of Youtube or a link to another site on the web. In addition, news Stereogum contains extracts of important music publications such as Newsweek and The Observer. 3. Coolfer focuses more on the music industry in specific bands. If you want a daily round-fi stories in the news this is the place to start. Items ranging from record sales for new album release dates to draw the covers. This is also the place where I first read about the Sony rootkit (the technology put in CDs that limits the number of copies that can make a cd and limits the number of computers can be imported into a CD). 4. The modern age is based music blog I like reading because it is serious. The woman who writes because he is not afraid to express opinions and make their own witty comments (about the singer from Keane "Tom shook hands and touched so many in the front row thought it was a presidential candidate.") It also offers links to music news of the day. 5. Largehearted child does not produce a ton of original content, however, provides readers with links to various types of news stories related to the music of a large number of sources. Here you can find links to stories about what products to buy, including portable speaker systems and the best MP3 players available for under $ 100.00, links to information and reviews on music festivals like Bonnaroo and Midwest Summit music, links to interviews with the likes of Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeah, and links to funny stories and essays like "The effect of the Garden State" and "12 deliciously strange concept albums." While it is very easy using the usual sources like Rolling Stone or Spin for information on all things music, why not try a different path? You may be pleasantly surprised at what is available to only explore beyond the traditional ways.

The field of paranormal research is so vast and unique as those who study it. The plethora of TV shows, movies, books and websites dedicated to ghost hunting has led many armchair investigators weekend. Not for the faint of heart, ghost hunters take physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological risks in the investigation of an enchanted place. Is there a common thread that runs between those who devote their lives to investigating the paranormal? This series of articles on offer and a vision of those who live to hunt the deceased. "10 questions" ask the same 10 questions of the paranormal investigators and their answers are as diverse and unique as they are. This is an inside look at the beliefs and thoughts of the paranormal investigator Michael Einspanjer Memphis Ghost Hunters. Michael trusted group of researchers have been featured in "Weird trips" the Travel Channel, Fine Living Channel "We live in fear" and "Dead Famous" on BBC America. Memphis Ghost Hunters have had the opportunity to investigate the sites of other groups have only dreamed of for their credibility, honesty and integrity. "I made the decision years ago to keep the money for my business. I have absolutely noting to gain (money) for the information they teach, "says Mr. Einspanjer, which offers free classes in ghost hunting and never charge for investigations. Ten questions with the paranormal investigator Michael Einspanjer: Christina: What do you want the paranormal Michael: The movie "Poltergeist" was actually the instigator of my interest in the paranormal. I found the research fascinating Christina: If you could have a piece of equipment for ghost hunting in an investigation, what would it be and why Michael: My camera VHS video of the 1980's. You can not falsify the results. What is at the great old tape is what was seen by the camera. I use them all the time Christina: Where is the busiest place you ever investigated Michael: The most popular place in Memphis is Earnestine and Hazel. It is a bar and a restaurant now. This is an old brothel and "juke joint." You can not go there without either seeing or hearing a ghost.Christina: Where is the place that you have not researched you would most like to Michael: I would love visit Alcatraz for the night with my team. JUST VISIT! lol.Christina: the ghost who would like to have a conversation with Michael and why: Truman Capote. Is a hero of mine. Love everything he wrote, and most of what saidChristina: Have you ever been afraid during an investigation or has been concerned for their safety due to paranormal activity Michael: A paranormal investigator who says he never had Fear is a liar. Point blank. You are in death than they were in life, and with that said, some people are still people who want to be wary of, although it is dead.Christina: Whom do I admire and respect in the field of paranormal studies and why? Michael: The Warren (Lorena and Eduardo) first come to mind. They have proven to be honest and real, time and time again.Christina: Where do you see ghost hunting in 10 years Michael: I hope to return to its roots. I am proud to say that I was in this area long before there was television. Now the field is stained with scam artists and people to make money. There are groups that charge for most of what they do or have criminal records. That's not how I want to represent our field. (All members of the group of Michael to undergo a background check.) Christina: What advice would you give to someone who is new to ghost hunting Michael: Keep your credibility, first of all, Christina: If you have opportunity to stay after his death, would you and haunt you Michael: I personally just want to get to my next life or my reward, whichever occurs first. I hope not land. But that is only me.Thank, Michael, for taking the time to answer my questions. I wish you the best of luck in all his future endeavors.

Ghost Hunting Made Simple

There is a lot of BS out there about ghost hunting, but it is not brain surgery. In fact it is not really that difficult to find things that will scare and amaze you.
